ASSESSING YOUR ITSM PROGRAM MATURITY
Have your teams been trained? The CIO, PMO, Service Management exploratory Groups will normally lead this effort until they have a commitment to move forward with their program. Once they cross that bridge, depending on the size of the company, the responsibility for training may shift to an IT Education group.
Do you have an ITSM Baseline Maturity Assessment? The Service Design group (IT Engineering) normally contracts this requirement to understand what they are capable of delivering and what they need to do to improve their this going forward.
Have you developed an ITSM Service Delivery & Management Plan? The Service Strategy group, led by the CIO or Director of IT normally leads this effort by interfacing with the Lines of Business to determine what services and service levels they will offer to the enterprise.
Have you developed an ITSM Resource & Governance Plan? The Project Management Office (PMO) or IT Governance body normally leads the effort to establish IT Governance, Sourcing and Measurement policies for the enterprise.
Have you developed an ITSM Transition & Operations Plan?
